Description
Silver/Gold Bas-relief depicting the Virgin Mary with Child Jesus (Ferruzzi’s Madonna – Arched Frame – Silver/Gold colours). This decorated Bas-relief is in anti-oxidizing silver/aluminium laminboard. The surface is glossy and polished. The back side of the bas-relief is in wood and it is provided with a tongue to be hanged on the wall (stands or hangs). The bas-relief comes in a box and with certificate of authenticity
The Madonnina, commonly known as the Madonna of the Streets (Ferruzzi’s Madonna), was a painting created by Roberto Ferruzzi (1854–1934) that won the second Venice Biennale in 1897.
The models for this painting were Angelina Cian (age 11) and her younger brother. Although not originally painted as a religious picture, this painting became popularized as an image of the Virgin Mary holding her infant son, and has become the most renowned of Ferruzzi’s works.
